Who Run the World? (Mean Girls)

Girls talk shit. Fact. I appreciate that I'm generalising what is overall a pretty decent half of the human race, but the majority of girls can be right bitches. Which is why I tend to spend 70% of my time in the company of guys. At least with men you know exactly what you're getting. They say what they mean and they mean what they say. You know where you stand. They don't tell you that they just LOVE your jumper/skirt/bracelet/insert chosen item, only to turn around as soon as you're out of earshot to completely slate said item to their just-as-bitchy girlfriend.
I learnt from a young age that most of the snide remarks girls are very capable of making stems purely from jealousy, insecurity and complete and utter ignorance. We're all guilty of doing it. I've done it countless times. Maybe not as blatantly as the above example, but I have commented on a girl's looks or dress sense or even aspects of her personality that I don't like. Most of the time it's down to my own insecurities. Maybe she gets more male attention because of they way she dresses or maybe it purely makes me feel more dignified and classy to compare myself to a less....dignified or classy girl. We all mutter the word 'slut' under our breath from time to time and somehow it reassures us that we are attractive, better dressed and will therefore achieve  more in life than the village bike. Plus we won't end up getting Chlamydia. And she might.

But it's all just speculation! Maybe she's a really nice girl. Maybe she's had a shitty upbringing and therefore getting trollied and wearing next to nothing in order to attract scummy guys is her only way of feeling confident or wanted. That's where our ignorance shows itself.

Another BIG issue is weight. Don't pretend that, from a distance, you haven't sized yourself up against a random girl entering a club or walking on the opposite side of the street, or trying on skinny jeans in the changing rooms. If a girl is slimmer than us, we immediately see her as the enemy. She's the lucky bitch who's either got amazing self-control or an incredible metabolism. Or perhaps she's overweight and therefore makes us feel a little better about the fact that we haven't eaten a single carb in eight, long, miserable days. But if you happen to talk to the girl, or god-forbid actually get to know her a little, she's more than likely quite nice. You just judged her on the way she looks. Well done.

Girls just have a habit of ripping each other apart whenever they can. So next time the bitchy girl comments on your looks or makes you feel 10cm tall she's probably either jealous, insecure, needing self-assurance or just downright hollow and evil inside. The irony is, the moment someone is jealous of what you have, you've already won.
